Job Overview
Deliver exceptional service to BMO customers and prospects. Identify customer needs and provide advice and guidance regarding financial solutions in the best interests of customers. Work collaboratively within the branch and with BMO partners to deliver desired customer experience and achieve overall business objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Proactively engage existing customers and prospects, conduct needs‑based assessments, and identify opportunities to grow loyalty.
- Recommend tailored solutions across everyday banking, retail investments, lending, home financing (including business‑for‑self applications), and small‑business solutions.
- Support customer transaction needs and generate appointments to build new relationships within the community.
- Resolve inquiries through consumer credit audits and quality checks, ensuring accurate data entry and lending recommendations that comply with legal, regulatory, and policy requirements.
- Apply the risk management framework to the portfolio to protect the bank’s assets and maintain portfolio quality, yield, and risk guidelines.
- Make credit recommendations for personal lending transactions, including home financing, following sound credit granting principles and bank policies.
- Act as a key member of a collaborative branch and market team, probing to understand customer personal banking and credit card needs and integrating marketing promotions into conversations.
- Organize work information to ensure accuracy and completeness, and find creative approaches to personalize each customer’s experience.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of the overall customer experience and business results.
- May work across multiple branches or channels; schedule may vary by week.
- Follow risk, compliance, privacy, and ethical processes to safeguard customer assets and act in their best interest.
- Keep current with the financial services marketplace and regulatory environment.
- Maintain knowledge of personal banking products, practices, and trends.
- Identify and report suspicious activity related to money laundering.
- Complete complex tasks within provided rules and handle escalations as needed.
- 2–3 years of relevant experience and a post‑secondary degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- For Canada: completed registration to sell investment products as appropriate for the jurisdiction; required lending qualifications and designations.
- Working knowledge of personal and small‑business customer needs and solutions.
- Understanding of retail investments and lending products.
- Experience in financial services (asset).
- Proficiency with social media, tablets, smartphones, online tools, and applications.
- Experience in consultative customer service or sales with a drive to deliver a personal customer experience.
- Passionate commitment to helping customers and delivering a personal experience.
- Results‑oriented, capable of thriving in consultative sales and team‑based environments.
- Resourceful self‑starter with courage and confidence to approach customers.
- Strong interpersonal, listening, problem‑solving, and flexible creative skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, organization, collaboration, and analytical skills.
Salary: $41,714.00 – $62,500.00 (salaried). Compensation may be influenced by location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications. Commission structure may apply, and the total package can include performance‑based incentives, discretionary bonuses, and other perks.
