Shift: Days (07:00 – 15:30) | Monday – Friday

The second-largest critical access hospital in Iowa, is seeking a versatile Surgical Technologist to support their surgical services in Decorah. This facility is a primary healthcare hub for the driftless region, known for high-quality outpatient and inpatient procedures. The role requires a "scrub" expert who is proficient in a broad range of specialties, from general and ortho to dental and podiatry.

• Multispecialty Scrubbing: Maintain a sterile field and anticipate surgeon needs across General Surgery, Orthopedics, ENT, OBGYN, Podiatry, Urology, and Dental cases.
• Instrumentation Management: Ensure all surgical tools and equipment are properly processed, counted, and ready for use.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the RN circulator and surgical team to provide a safe, efficient environment for the patient.
• On-Call Response: Participate in the rotation, ensuring readiness for emergent cases within a 30-minute response window.
• Documentation: Utilize Epic EMR for surgical logging and resource tracking.

• Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience as a Surgical Technologist.
• Education: Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• Certification: * BLS (AHA) required.
  • Surgical Technologist Certification (CST) is preferred.
  • Must complete State of Iowa Mandatory Reporter training.
• Call Requirement: Must stay within 30 minutes of the facility while on-call.

• Hours: Primarily 8-hour shifts; start times may shift as early as 06:00 based on case volume.
• Call Rotation: Approximately 1 night per every 2-week pay period and every 5th to 6th weekend.
• Holiday Call: Rotation is included.
• Facility Address: Decorah, IA 52101.

- Experience:

Minimum 1 year of experience as a Surgical Technologist.

- Education:

Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.

- Certification:
* BLS (AHA) required.

Surgical Technologist Certification (CST) is preferred.

- Must complete State of Iowa Mandatory Reporter training.

- Call Requirement:
Must stay within 30 minutes of the facility while on-call.
