Sort Machine Sort Operator – 3rd shift, M‑F 11pm–7am.
Pay Rate: $20.28 + $2.25 Shift Premium +

Location:

Decorah, IA.

• Set up existing and new products on all automatic sorting machines (Mectron, Kotsu, Retina, CCM, Dowel Pin, Roll Sorters and internal machines).
• Adjust machine sensors, table, rollers, and counters to meet customer and quality requirements.
• Run fasteners through the sorting machine, ensuring items are sorted as "good parts" and comply with blueprint specifications.
• Use micrometer, caliper, and dial gauges to regularly check "good" parts for quality compliance.
• Identify defects that the sorting machine cannot detect and log them.
• Provide post‑run logging of sorted parts, including part number, quantity, customer, and time.
• Train other employees on machine operation and sorting procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness of the work area and adhere to all company safety policies.
• Assist in other warehouse areas (bagging, packaging, shipping) as needed.
• Clean and grease machine sensors, cameras, tables, and rollers to ensure proper operation.

• Required:
  
  High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  Read blueprints, micrometers, calipers, and use dial gauges.
  Familiarity with IATF
  16949 and ISO
  14001 requirements.
• Preferred:
  Knowledge of electro‑mechanical equipment, fiber optics, vision sorters, and fastener types.
  Previous experience on similar sorting equipment.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a self‑motivated, leadership approach.
