Manufacturing Engineer Opportunity

At Know Hire Match , we believe the best manufacturing happens when process meets purpose. This isn't just another engineering role—it's a chance to shape how things are made at a facility that values your ideas as much as your experience. You'll work in Decorah, Iowa, where the pace is intentional, the team is tight-knit, and your fingerprints will be on every improvement.

If you're tired of being a cog and ready to be the engineer who makes the whole system run better, keep reading.

What You'll Do

You'll own the production floor—not in a micromanaging way, but as the person who makes sure every process is stable, safe, and scalable. Your day-to-day will include:

  • Monitoring process performance in real time, jumping on issues before they become problems, and keeping production humming.
  • Writing and updating work instructions, process flows, and standard work—so everyone knows exactly how to do their best work.
  • Diving into data (scrap rates, cycle times, downtime) to find hidden opportunities for improvement.
  • Leading root cause analysis when something goes sideways, then implementing fixes that stick.
  • Championing kaizen events and continuous improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, and whatever smart methodology fits the moment.
  • Reducing waste, cutting scrap, and trimming labor inefficiencies—all while keeping quality front and center.
  • Supporting new product introductions by setting up trials, documenting processes, and training operators.
  • Owning capital projects from start to finish: selecting equipment, building ROI cases, managing installation, and commissioning new systems.
  • Collaborating with Maintenance, Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain to ensure every new piece of equipment integrates seamlessly.
What You Bring

You're the kind of engineer who sees the whole picture—not just the machine, but the people, the data, and the business goals behind it. You bring:

  • A degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • Hands-on experience with process improvement tools:
Lean, Six Sigma, root cause analysis, and process validation.
  • A knack for turning messy production data into clear, actionable insights.
  • The ability to write technical documentation that operators actually use and understand.
  • Comfort leading cross-functional teams and influencing without authority.
  • A track record of managing capital projects—from concept to commissioning.
  • A bias for action: you don't just identify problems, you solve them.
Why This Role?

You'll earn $75,000–$95,000 per year, plus bonus potential. You'll work in a facility where your ideas get heard and your improvements get implemented. And you'll be part of a company that values process excellence—not just as a buzzword, but as a daily practice. Ready to make your mark? Let's talk.
