Position Summary

Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician

As a Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician at our local store, your role supports and oversees repair of Walmart facility refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets by applying commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills using hand, digital, and power tools.

• Maintain and repair facility refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills.
• Utilize the work order management system to receive repair work orders, support store associates, and document repair activities.
• Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations by following Walmart refrigeration HVAC safety policies and environmental guidelines.
• Lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work regularly at heights.

• 2 years’ experience in commercial refrigeration HVAC maintenance.
• Large‑scale rack refrigeration experience.
• Type I/II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass an MVR report.
• 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years of mechanical maintenance or construction experience in a commercial HVAC/R setting, or 4 years of equivalent experience.

• Completion of a 2‑year vocational or technical HVAC/R program.
• Mechanical license in the city and/or state where the job is located.

The hourly wage range for this position is $23.00 - $45.00, with additional premium compensation that may apply based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed.
