Boston 25 News (WFXT) has an exciting new opportunity for a full-time Sports Multimedia Journalist. We are looking for a self‑starter who can fill a variety of roles in our lineup, covering Boston’s legendary pro franchises, historic colleges, and robust high school sports scene. In this position, you will be required to produce daily content on a variety of platforms, including broadcast, digital, and social media, along with other duties as assigned by the news managers.
You may work with a photographer or occasionally shoot stories on your own. It is essential to possess strong writing skills, knowledge of current events, and a passion for sports. You will be required to stay abreast of the main sports angles of the day, pitch enterprise stories and compelling features, and help guide the producers on how best to use your content.
Dynamic live television and storytelling skills are a must. You may also be assigned to produce and anchor live sportscasts.
- A self‑starter who can generate his or her own story ideas daily.
- Ability to demonstrate enterprise reporting and creativity in storytelling.
- Must be skilled at shooting, writing, and editing content.
- Ability to cultivate and maintain an active social media presence.
- Knowledge of local and regional sports teams and programs and their schedules.
- Must work well under pressure with tight deadlines and be willing to work overtime or weekends.
- Ability to work independently as well as work and collaborate with a team.
The hourly range for this role is $40.87 per hour to $52.88 per hour.
