Educational Support Professional

The Dedham Public Schools, home to America's first tax supported, free public school, is looking for a Special Education Educational Support Professional.

Responsibilties:

* Implement individualized IEP plans

* Collect data on student learning and behavior goals

* Facilitate inclusion in general education classrooms and work within a substantially separate program

* supervise students in all environments

* Collaborate with and participate in consulatation with special education teacher and related service providers

Expectations:

* ability to work with a multi disciplinary team to support students across the curriculum

* ability to shift instruction and provide content specific and behavioral support and interventions ability to accept and implement directions

* ability to be flexible with job assignments as needed

* Consistent and dependable attendance

* Frequent standing

* Significant amounts of walking

* Paraprofessionals may be required to escort the student(s) to different classrooms, to recess (if applicable), and to field trips, in addition to managing the student(s) activity level

WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS

The school environment can be high-energy and moderately noisy. Before/after school, recess and field trips may require time outdoors in inclement weather.
