Position Summary:
Collaborates with the Executive Director of the Lunder Care Force Institute (ED) to identify short- and long-term educational goals and priorities for HSL. Responsible for ensuring evidence-based nursing practice at the Roslindale and Dedham campuses and for primary oversight, education, and clinical aspects of nursing programs. Provides oversight and coordination of nursing policies and procedures and offers clinical consultation for patient care policies as needed or requested.
Works across departments at HSL to create shared service agreements, collaborating with various teams to align educational goals and resources. Works in partnership with Lunder Care Force and Nursing Administration to bridge resources, create educational opportunities, and enhance program offerings. In conjunction with human resources, responsible for the coordination and oversight of HSL-wide orientation education, required annual education, and selected non-clinical training programs.
Works in collaboration with information technology staff to ensure oversight of the HSL Learning Management System. Additionally, manages and oversees English language classes in conjunction with the Lunder Care Force Institute, including the coordination and management of third-party vendors providing language instruction.
Works collaboratively with all leadership personnel to develop goals and policies that establish and promote an environment of professional development based on innovative learning. Accountable for coordinating all aspects of professional development activities based on organizational goals, objectives, and priorities. Is a liaison for quality and patient safety initiatives including regulatory readiness. The Director of Professional Practice and Educational Programming leads the development of professional growth, measures, and evaluates effectiveness of educational programming.
Works collaboratively with other disciplines and departments to ensure that educational programs are well coordinated and of high quality. Develops and supports nursing training as prioritized for nurses throughout HSL. Manages the Professional Development education team including the Wound Care and Informatics Specialists. Is a change leader and supports/mentors decentralized professional development leadership roles. Takes a leadership role with creating and supporting person centered care initiatives.
Oversees processes and systems to ensure adherence and compliance with student agreements. Coordinates contract reviews and tuition discount agreements, ensures that students meet agreement requirements, tracks annual number of external learners and works collaboratively with department leaders to ensure compliance with student placement and onboarding policy.

Position Responsibilities:
* In partnership with the Chief Nursing Officer and Associate Chief Nursing Officer, formulates nursing education programming, consistent with current nursing education standards, regulatory requirements and desired model of care.
* In collaboration with ED, identifies HSL wide educational programming initiatives and coordinates training for identified priorities.
* Participates/leads work teams/committees to support effective educational programming of staff and students.
* Manages and meets budget targets.
* Fosters ongoing partnerships through innovative programming with external organizations including Universities, colleges, and vocational technical schools to engage students, create pipelines and encourage careers in geriatrics.
