Special Education Educational Support Professional

The Dedham Public Schools, home to America's first tax supported, free public school, is looking for a Special Education Educational Support Professional.

Responsibilities:

• Implement individualized IEP plans
• Collect data on student learning and behavior goals
• Facilitate inclusion in general education classrooms and work within a substantially separate program
• Supervise students in all environments

Collaborate with and participate in consultation with special education teacher and related service providers

Expectations:

• Ability to work with a multi disciplinary team to support students across the curriculum
• Ability to shift instruction and provide content specific and behavioral support and interventions
• Ability to accept and implement directions
• Ability to be flexible with job assignments as needed

• Consistent and dependable attendance
• Frequent standing
• Significant amounts of walking
• Paraprofessionals may be required to escort the student(s) to different classrooms, to recess (if applicable), and to field trips, in addition to managing the student(s) activity level

Work Environment/Conditions:

• The school environment can be high-energy and moderately noisy
• Before/after school, recess and field trips may require time outdoors in inclement weather
