Job DescriptionPosition Summary
Under the supervision of the LEAP Director and Avery LEAP Site Coordinator, the LEAP Assistant Site Coordinator provides leadership for the Avery Before and After School Program by supporting daily operations, leading curriculum development and implementation for the Avery site, and serving as the district s Morning Care point person. The Assistant Site Coordinator helps ensure a safe, engaging, and high-quality program while building positive relationships with children, families, staff, and school personnel.
ProgramPlanning and Leadership
- Lead curriculum planning and implementation for the Avery LEAP Program.
- Develop engaging, age-appropriate activities that support academic, social-emotional, and physical development.
- Serve as the district s Morning Care point person, supporting daily operations, staffing, and communication across sites.
- Assist the Site Coordinator with daily program operations, staffing, and special events.
- Ensure a safe, welcoming, and high-quality program environment for all students.
- In the event of a Site Coordinator’s absence, this position will assume necessary responsibilities to support daily operations, staff supervision, and program continuity.
- Assist with staff observations, supervision, and performance appraisals for the site
- Maintain a high quality of team performance and job satisfaction
- Create a staff environment that is child-focused and supportive of each other
- Other responsibilities as needed
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit (at times on the floor with children) and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust.
Candidates should be prepared to demonstrate the following experience and personal qualities:
Minimum age of 20 years old
- Meets Massachusetts EEC requirements for school-age program staff
- Completion of EEC Essentials, Staff Orientation, CPR/First Aid, and all required trainings
- At least one year working with school-age children in a licensed child care or educational setting
- Demons trated leadership experience supervising staff and supporting program operations
- A positive outlook, and a sense of humor
This is a 10 month school year position working up to 30 hours per week with benefits.
