Civil / Transportation Project Manager (PE)

We are seeking an experienced Civil / Transportation Project Manager to lead the planning, design, and delivery of roadway and infrastructure projects for public and private clients. This role is ideal for a licensed Professional Engineer who combines hands‑on technical expertise with strong project management, client leadership, and team development skills.

What You'll Do

* Lead the design and development of grading, drainage, utilities, paving, and roadway plans for public and private sector projects

* Ensure all plans, reports, and deliverables comply with state and local codes, agency standards, and regulatory requirements

* Prepare site plans, due‑diligence reports, engineering studies, technical specifications, and supporting documentation

* Manage projects from concept through completion, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and quality control

* Serve as a key client contact, participating in project scoping, contract negotiations, and client coordination

* Oversee project budgets, schedules, and billing accuracy to ensure successful financial performance

* Coordinate and direct detailed phases of design work while providing leadership during proposal development and pursuits

* Represent the firm in client meetings, agency coordination meetings, and public forums

* Supervise, mentor, and develop engineers, designers, drafters, and support staff

* Promote a strong safety culture, ensuring staff receive appropriate training and follow established procedures

* Participate in professional organizations and contribute to technical papers or publications when appropriate

What You Bring

* Professional Engineer (PE) license (required)

* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)

* 10-15 years of experience in highway, roadway, or interchange design, including at least 3 years in project management

* Hands‑on design experience with corridor and intersection modeling, plan production, construction details, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimating

* Strong understanding of transportation engineering, including multimodal and Complete Streets design principles

* Experience with intersection planning, pedestrian and bicycle safety, and full project delivery processes

* Familiarity with MassDOT standards, as well as national guidelines such as AASHTO and MUTCD

* Proven experience in supporting construction through QA/QC reviews, submittals, and RFI responses

* Experience on projects involving roadway reconstruction, intersection improvements, shared‑use paths, separated bike lanes, signing/striping, signal design, and traffic control plans

* Proficiency in at least one roadway design platform (Civil 3D, Open Roads, InRoads, or GEOPAK), plus AutoTURN and cost‑estimating tools

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $115000.00 - $155000.00/yr.
