Position SummaryPrepares and positions patients for diagnostic exams of various parts of the body which includes setting up equipment and patient in relation to each other to provide best demonstration of body part under study. Enters instructions into computers, monitors and evaluates images for accuracy and completeness of order. Makes necessary adjustments when judged to be necessary. Evaluates radiographs for image quality and completeness.
The Radiographer acts as a critical member of the patient care team, collaborates fully with the other care team members in assuring continuity of care for their patients.
$28.00-$60.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities- Operate complex imaging equipment, such as X-ray, and c-arms.
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process and positioning them correctly.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort during imaging procedures.
- Maintain and calibrate imaging equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Follow prescribed protocols to minimize radiation exposure to patients and personnel.
- Assist healthcare professionals in interpreting imaging results.
- Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation.
- Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations and procedures.
- Perform quality control procedures to ensure high-quality imaging.
- Stay updated with advancements in medical imaging technology and techniques.
- Coordinate with other medical staff to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Other duties as assigned
- Vocational or Technical training in Medical Radiography required. Associate’s degree in medical Radiography preferred.
- License MA Rad Tech-Radiography required.
- Registration American Registry of Rad Tech required
- Basic Life Support certification required.
- Ability to correlate clinical data with patient’s medical and nursing care.
- Ability to set priorities.
- Ability to take direction from others and provide information that is clear, concise and promotes efficiency on the unit.
- Ability to communicate well with Physicians, Patients, Co-workers, etc.
- Ability to demonstrate flexibility with assignments and schedule.
