Walden University seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support the health, safety, and learning of our diverse adult student population. In this role, you will deliver practical nursing care in education-focused clinical and lab environments, administer medications, perform health screenings, and respond to urgent health needs. You will collaborate with faculty and student services to support clinical learning, wellness initiatives, and accommodations.
The ideal candidate brings strong clinical skills, excellent documentation, and a commitment to mission-driven, student-centered education and social change.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct practical nursing care to online and on-site nursing students and staff within educational clinical settings
- Administer medications and treatments per provider orders and institutional protocols
- Monitor, document, and report patient or student health status in compliance with regulatory and school policies
- Support student clinical learning by modeling best-practice nursing care and safe clinical techniques
- Collaborate with faculty, providers, and student services to coordinate health-related support
- Participate in health education, wellness initiatives, and vaccination or screening campaigns
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and ensure confidentiality (HIPAA/FERPA)
- Respond to health emergencies and triage illnesses or injuries
- Ensure infection prevention, safety, and quality standards are met in clinical and lab environments
- Contribute to continuous improvement of clinical education and health services processes
