Meat Cutter Part Time

Job Summary

Receives, rotates, cuts, wraps, and merchandises fresh and processed meats, including grinds. Assists in merchandising of seafood, prepared foods, cheeses, and pre-packed deli, and assists in the rotisserie chicken area and full-service deli. Maintains all sanitation and safety standards within the meat department.

• Work with commitment and pride to deliver GOLD Grand Opening look daily, ensuring all items are stocked and promotional plans executed.
• Maintain visible, accurate signage.

• Access and read production and/or financial performance reporting for your department.
• Understand how consistent execution positively impacts the business.

• Engage and assist members by making recommendations and answering questions about meat, poultry, and seafood; prepare special cuts.
• Cuts, grinds, and processes fresh meats to company standards; weighs, packages, wraps, and labels according to packaging standards.
• Ensure meat displays showcase all available products and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
• Ensure meat, seafood, prepared foods, and cheese cases are fully stocked and rotate according to expiration dates; dispose of damaged or expired product following guidelines.
• Cleans and sanitizes all equipment, display fixtures, and area in the meat department, including coolers, freezers, and refrigerated display cases.
• Inspects and stores meat upon delivery, ensuring all received meats meet or exceed quality standards.
• Receives and unpacks meat, poultry, seafood, prepared foods, and cheeses in the cooler and freezer.
• Maintains all club policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed.
• Ensures regular, predictable, full attendance.

• Completion of a training program/apprenticeship required.
• Previous meat cutting experience required.
• Knowledge of automatic/hand wrapping machines preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

• Spend most of the time moving on hard surfaces; may require bending, handling, pulling, reaching, or stooping.
• Frequently requires lifting objects up to 30 pounds; may require lifting heavier items with assistance.
• Located in a cooler area with frequent exposure to temperature extremes and loud noises; occasional exposure to cleaning agents.

Pay range for this position: $19.75 - $24.75 per hour. Actual salaries will vary based on location, education, experience, and qualifications.
