About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail‑oriented Staff Accountant to take full ownership of core accounting operations, including the general ledger, bookkeeping, reconciliations, and month‑end close processes. This role is critical to ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of our financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4+ years of progressive accounting experience and be comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, hands‑on environment.

You will serve as a key finance team member and a go‑to resource for accounting accuracy, reporting, and operational support. This role offers strong exposure across the full accounting cycle today, with a clear path to expand into Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) responsibilities such as budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis as the company grows. You will work closely with finance leadership as a trusted right hand, while also partnering cross‑functionally across departments to support financial transparency and decision‑making.

Responsibilities
  • Own and maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and proper classification of all transactions
  • Manage full‑cycle bookkeeping activities, including journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
  • Perform and review bank and account reconciliations on a monthly and as‑needed basis
  • Lead and support the month‑end and year‑end close process, including preparation of supporting schedules and reconciliations
  • Prepare, analyze, and distribute internal financial reports for management and leadership review
  • Ensure financial records are maintained in accordance with GAAP and internal controls
  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice processing, aging reviews, and collections support when needed
  • Develop and maintain Excel‑based financial models, reports, and reconciliations (advanced Excel required)
  • Support audits, tax filings, and any external reporting requirements as needed
  • Partner with cross‑functional teams to resolve discrepancies and improve financial processes
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, automation, and accuracy within accounting workflows
  • Contribute to building a strong, collaborative finance culture aligned with company values
  • (Future) Support budgeting, forecasting, and FP&A initiatives, including variance analysis and financial planning support
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CPA track strongly preferred)
  • 4+ years of accounting experience (corporate accounting or public accounting background preferred)
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles
  • Hands‑on experience with general ledger accounting and full month‑end close ownership
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, data analysis)
  • Experience with accounting systems/ERP software (Sage, Quick Books, Net Suite, or similar)
  • Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline‑driven environment
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and present financial information clearly
  • Self‑starter mindset with the ability to work independently while also being a team player
  • High level of accountability, ownership, and problem‑solving ability

Salary: $90,000.00-$ per year
