OVERVIEW
IT Infrastructure Services is looking for a Temporary IT Inventory Technician to support a focused equipment inventory project. In this role, you will help physically relocate equipment between storage areas, apply asset tags, and accurately record hardware details as part of a broader effort to organize and account for IT assets. This is a contract position expected to last 1–2 months, well suited to a reliable, detail-oriented individual who can work independently on a defined task list.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Scan and record serial numbers for IT hardware and network equipment
• Apply asset tags/labels to equipment
• Perform basic testing of hardware to confirm working condition
• Physically relocate equipment between storage areas/locations as needed
• Group and organize equipment by type, location, and status
• Enter inventory data into spreadsheets or asset tracking tools
• Flag any damaged, missing, or unidentified equipment for review
• Keep inventory areas organized throughout the project

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Comfortable with basic data entry and following labeling/organizational procedures
• Detail-oriented and able to work independently on a defined task list
• Comfortable powering on/testing basic hardware functionality
• Reliable and able to commit to the full project duration (1–2 months)

PREFERRED, NOT

REQUIRED:

• Prior IT experience is preferred, as equipment will need to be classified and coordinated; familiarity with the following is helpful: computers, monitors, scanners, handheld devices, peripherals, printers, and label makers

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Able to lift/move equipment as needed and assist with physical relocation of hardware
