Modern Packaging is seeking a skilled Electrician to join its Production team in building and supporting advanced packaging automation systems.
Responsibilities- Read electrical schematics and build control panels.
- Terminate panels; terminate all low‑ and high‑voltage wires back to the main panel(s) and/or junction boxes.
- Install field wiring, including mounting of various sensor types (proximity, photo‑eye, laser‑through‑beam, vision systems).
- Troubleshoot systems using tools and instruments to find and fix electrical problems with assistance from Controls Engineers.
- Redline electrical prints, catch and document mistakes in electrical drawings so the Engineers can correct the final drawing set.
- Assist in mechanical assembly and installation.
- Assist with facilities and equipment related maintenance and installation.
- Previous work experience with AC motors, motor starters, disconnects, and PLC I/O wiring.
- Experience in industrial electrical panel and machine wiring.
- Ability to read electrical drawings; thorough understanding of low‑ and high‑voltage circuits, symbols, and circuitry.
- Ability to read and understand Electrical Engineering drawing sets; knowledge of safe practices on high‑voltage systems.
- Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics created on AutoCAD.
- Strong understanding of safe electrical practices and ability to interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Expertise in grounding and bonding for noise suppression.
- Deep knowledge of wire sizes for industrial machine wiring (480
Vac, 3 phase and 230
Vac, 3 phase). - Hands‑on experience reading and interpreting bill of materials (BOMs).
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet timelines.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.
- Education:
Technical/other training or better in Electronics Technology. - Preferred: 2 years electrical and 2 years manufacturing experience.
Salary: $40–$50 per hour. Total compensation includes a comprehensive medical/dental program, life insurance, a generous paid time‑off program, and a retirement savings plan with company match. You are eligible for benefits on your first day of employment—no waiting period.
