Our client is seeking an experienced and highly accountable Corporate Controller to lead its corporate accounting and financial control functions. Reporting directly to the CFO, this individual will be responsible for the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial reporting, the monthly close process, internal controls, and key transactional finance functions.
The Corporate Controller will provide leadership across Corporate Accounting, Accounts Payable, Collections, Treasury, and Tax
, while partnering closely with operational finance and business leadership.
This is a high-impact opportunity for a hands-on finance leader who can bring structure, discipline, accountability, and process improvement to a growing, multi-entity organization. The successful candidate will combine strong technical accounting expertise with leadership capability, operational awareness, and a technology-focused mindset.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and own the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
- Establish a disciplined close calendar with clear ownership, deadlines, and accountability.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and management reporting.
- Review reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, reserves, and other significant accounting activities.
- Analyze financial results, trends, variances, and potential accounting issues.
- Ensure financial reporting is prepared in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies.
- Support the CFO with financial reporting, analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and management reporting.
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial partners.
- Continuously improve the speed, accuracy, and automation of financial reporting and close processes.
- Own and strengthen the corporate accounting control environment.
- Develop, implement, and maintain effective accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Identify control weaknesses and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure appropriate segregation of duties and authorization controls.
- Support internal and external audit activities and ensure timely resolution of findings.
- Drive consistency and standardization of accounting processes across the organization.
- Provide leadership across the Accounts Payable and Collections functions.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices and payments.
- Establish appropriate controls around vendor setup, payment authorization, and banking information.
- Monitor AP aging, customer collections, DSO, past-due balances, and working capital requirements.
- Partner with Operations, Billing, Procurement, and commercial teams to resolve billing, payment, and collection issues.
- Drive improvements in cash conversion, working capital, and transactional finance processes.
- Identify opportunities to automate and streamline procure-to-pay and collections activities.
- Oversee cash management, forecasting, banking relationships, and treasury activities.
- Ensure adequate liquidity and effective utilization of company cash.
- Oversee cash positioning, bank reconciliations, payment controls, and disbursement activities.
- Support the CFO with cash flow forecasting, liquidity analysis, and financing-related activities.
- Partner with external tax advisors on federal, state, local, and other tax compliance requirements.
- Coordinate tax filings, audits, inquiries, and planning activities.
- Partner closely with operational finance and business leadership to ensure alignment between corporate accounting and business operations.
- Ensure consistency in financial reporting, accounting practices, and financial data across operating locations and business units.
- Establish clear ownership and handoffs between Corporate Accounting and Operations Finance.
- Drive process improvement, standardization, and scalability across the finance organization.
- Leverage ERP systems, automation, business intelligence, AI, and other technologies to improve reporting, analysis, forecasting, and transaction processing.
- Lead, develop, and hold accountable a finance organization of approximately 8 professionals, including 5 direct reports at the Director level
. - Provide leadership across Corporate Accounting, AP, Collections, Treasury, and Tax.
- Establish clear performance expectations, KPIs, processes, and accountability.
- Build a high-performing team focused on accuracy, responsiveness, continuous improvement, and strong business partnership.
- Partner effectively with Operations, Procurement, HR, IT, Legal, and other corporate functions.
- Serve as a trusted financial partner to the CFO and executive leadership team.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
