Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Product Stewardship Specialist to join our team in Deer Park, Texas. This full-time, on-site role is pivotal in ensuring the compliance and safety of our products through various stages of their lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemistry, particularly within the polymer sector, and will be instrumental in guiding regulatory compliance and supporting product stewardship initiatives across multiple markets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Regulatory Compliance: Interpret and manage compliance with food contact regulations, including preparing Food Contact Notifications and liaising with FDA representatives.
  • Safety Data Sheets (SDS): Develop and maintain GHS SDSs for products and materials, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
  • Transportation and Shipping: Prepare GHS labels, shipping documents, and specify packaging solutions for hazardous materials, while supporting DOT-related evaluations and training documentation.
  • TSCA Management: Investigate TSCA status, prepare Pre-Manufacture Notices, and manage polymer exemption reports, ensuring timely and accurate annual reporting.
  • Customs and Trade Compliance: Determine HTS classifications, assist with NAFTA compliance, and support the management of imports and exports.
  • International Regulations: File necessary documentation to comply with NSF, Canadian NSN, EU Plastic Directive, and other international chemical control laws, ensuring product certifications are up-to-date and valid.
  • Customer and Business Support: Provide guidance to customers and internal business entities, assess product stewardship risks related to mergers and acquisitions, and align new business ventures with regulatory requirements.
Travel Requirements

Up to 10% travel, both domestic and international, is required to fulfill the responsibilities of this role.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field.
  • 7-10 years of experience in product stewardship or related functions within the chemical industry, with a focus on polymers.
  • Proficiency in MS PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook at an intermediate level.
