** A Day in the Life
** As a
** Group Leader in our Deer Park, TX lab**, you'll be results-driven, technically grounded management role responsible for directing the daily operations in a high-throughput environmental laboratory. This position calls for an individual who combines strong analytical capability with an approachable leadership style, someone who sets clear expectations, coaches their team to meet them, and trusts people to deliver.
The compensation range for this role is **$55,000 to $80,000**, in addition to an annual bonus, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location.

* Schedule:
** Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm, potential for overtime, weekend, holidays dependent on client needs.
To thrive in this role, you’ll be comfortable taking ownership of the following responsibilities:
* Personnel supervision, timekeeping, and performance evaluations
* Backlog management workflow monitoring, and operational efficiency
* Accurate and timely communication between laboratory departments, Project Managers, and upper management
* Sample analysis as needed following various published methods
* Analytical method development
* Upload and review of data for inclusion in client reports
* Solution, standard, and sample preparation as needed
* Occasional split shift and/or weekend duties
* Instrument calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting
* Implementation of quality updates and process optimization strategies
* Inventory of consumables, reagents, and instrument components
* Application of GLP in daily laboratory operations
* Initiation and investigation of non-conformance issues
* Compliance with our Quality Assurance Program, Health and Safety Plan, and other policies
* Other responsibilities as assigned by the Operations Manager, Technical Director, and/or Lab Director
* Laboratory position coverage/backfill as needed for operational continuity
** Your Expertise and Skills
** These requirements reflect the knowledge, skills and abilities that help you do your best work here.
* Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a related scientific field
* 3–5 years of laboratory experience in Ambient Air analytical testing
* 1-3 years of prior supervisory experience in a production laboratory environment, with a demonstrated ability to develop and lead teams
* Demonstrated ability to organize workflows, manage competing priorities, and allocate personnel effectively
* Experience handling non-routine samples and managing high-volume preparation schedules
* Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
* Experience with Workday preferred
* Experience in LIMS
* Leadership - positively influences operational success by motivating and supporting laboratory personnel successful
* Communication - promotes intra laboratory collaboration and cultivates positive workplace culture
* Critical Thinking – implements novel and proactive strategies to drive innovation and problem solving
* Time Management – shows ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain composure during challenging situations
