This position is a 1:1 assignment. Please see additional details:
1:1 FOCUS (Life Skills) paraprofessional provides individualized, direct support to a student with complex learning, communication, behavioral, physical, and/or personal care needs throughout the school day. This position works closely with the special education teacher and related service providers to implement the student’s IEP, support access to instruction, promote independence, and ensure the student can safely and meaningfully participate in the school environment.
Responsibilities may include providing support with communication, mobility and positioning, feeding, toileting and personal care, behavior and sensory needs, functional academics, daily living skills, transitions, and participation across school settings. The paraprofessional is expected to follow individualized student plans while maintaining the student’s dignity and safety with the goal of providing only the level of assistance necessary for the student to be successful.
Job Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid SBEC Educational Aide certificate
- Associate's Degree or 48 or more college hoursor NCLB Para Educator Certification issued by San Jacinto College or other local educational entity
Job Description:
Assist the teacher(s) in the preparation and management of classroom activities and administrative requirements. Assist in the implementation of classroom programs. Work under the general supervision of the principal and the immediate direction of a certified teacher. Other duties as assigned.

The district contributes $400/monthly to the cost of "employee-only" health insurance which is $175/monthly greater than the state required amount of $225/monthly.
Pay Grade: Paraprofessional, Pay Grade4, 187 Days (based on Compensation Plan)
Minimum: $15.75
Midpoint: $18.92
Compensation based on job‑like experience
