How You’ll Make an Impact
As a Technical Engineer - Process Automation & Controls, you'll be at the forefront of our innovation by driving best in class solutions to meet rigorous internal standards and compliance requirement for projects across our Deer Park, TX facility. In this role, you will:
- Provide excellent technical acumen with Process Automation & Control technologies and their application in industrial settings.
- Provide technical leadership with Emerson Delta
V Process Control systems. - Oversee the installation configuration, and integration of automation/process control, and systems through commissioning and handover.
- Demonstrate a safety conscious mindset.
- Provide extensive expertise with programming languages including developing control narratives, graphics, technical specifications, testing, and documentation.
- Specify and source components/equipment/instruments/sensors, materials for our projects keeping safety as a priority.
- Lead the Safety Integrated Systems (SIS) development and integration in capital projects.
- Design and develop control systems using DCS, PLCS, SCADA, HMI and other technologies.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement safety protocols.
- Participate in Process Hazard Analysis(PHA) and convert findings to actionable items.
- Collaborate and Communicate with our cross functional project teams while acting as consultant and technical leader with our staff, DCS technicians, vendors and contractors to ensure successful project delivery.
- Be a subject matter expert for Automation & Process Control for internal and external forums.
- Coach and train others.
- Present complicated technical subjects and materials to a diverse audience.
- Be a strong team player in a matrix organization involving complex project environment.
- Actively pursue new and future technologies for process control and automation.
- Represent Lubrizol in industry user forums.
- Demonstrate intellectual agility and flexibility.
- Ability to work indepedently with minimum guidance.
Required Qualifications that Enables Your Success
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Automation, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
- 5+ years of experience as a Process Control/Automation Engineer or similar role in achemical or petrochemical manufacturing industry.
- Experience d emonstrated expertise with Emerson Delta
V Process Control Systems. - Experience collaborating with cross functional project teams on multiple projects with responsibility to own design for the entire project life cycle.
- Experience with SAP, MS Office, MATLAB, Simulink, LabVIEW.
- Experience with programming languages used in automation (e.g. Ladder Logic, Function Block, Python, C++, AI).
- Experience with automation systems including PLCs, SCADA, DCS, and HMI.
Preferred Qualifications that Drives you Forward
- Professional Engineer license.
