Electrical & Instrumentation Estimator

Overview

This role serves as a pivotal lead within our organization, tasked with reviewing Requests for Quotations (RFQs), and preparing comprehensive electrical and instrumentation proposals. The position encompasses a broad spectrum of responsibilities across industrial, renewable, petrochemical, and refinery projects, involving meticulous review of specifications, quantity surveying, labor unit establishment, and vendor/subcontractor quote evaluation.

• Review RFQs and project documents to discern project specifics and requirements.
• Interpret engineering documentation including drawings, specifications, and scope of work.
• Conduct detailed quantity take-offs against technical documentation.
• Identify potential project challenges and propose effective solutions.
• Provide timely clarifications during the tender process.
• Negotiate competitive rates with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Input cost data into proposal formats as per project requirements.
• Collaborate with other estimators, engineers, and project managers.
• Maintain and update a comprehensive cost estimating database.

• Minimum 10 years of experience in industrial electrical and instrumentation estimating.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across disciplines.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with maintaining and utilizing cost estimating databases.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with engineering, procurement, and project control departments.
• Previous experience in preparing and submitting cost estimates to clients.
• Track record of maintaining and updating cost historical data.

• Proficiency in English required.
• Proficiency in Spanish is a plus (not required).

• Background in Electrical and Instrumentation disciplines.
• Minimum 10 years of industrial experience.
