Overview
Senior HSSE Q Specialist (Internal) / HSSEQ Advisor (External).
Location:
Deer Park, TX.
Reports to:
Regional HSSEQ Manager – Americas. The role drives HSSEQ programs within the Americas Service business unit, leading safety initiatives, training, audits and continuous improvement for fixed locations and field service technicians.
Monday – Friday, evenings and weekends may be required.
Job Duties and Responsibilities- Drive HSSE culture to prevent injuries, illness, and damage.
- Proactively seek to avoid hazards by promoting safety & environmental awareness and supporting company‑wide HSSE initiatives.
- Train new employees and administer the training management system and training matrices.
- Ensure tasks have hazard/risk assessments documented and communicated.
- Develop and execute site‑specific HSSE plans, including KPI scorecards.
- Improve management system elements: policies, procedures, work instructions.
- Lead incident learning teams, facilitate root‑cause analysis, and disseminate lessons learned.
- Facilitate communication through site and regional HSSEQ forums and Safety Committees.
- Draft compliance reports (OSHA, EPA, DNR) and maintain an Internal Assurance Audit Program.
- Support the planning of Site Inspections and Senior Management site visits.
- Perform security assessments and maintain OSHENS Data Management System.
- Use VOC to develop customer relationships and meet expectations.
- Investigate and close CARs for quality issues within responsibility area.
- Maintain ISO/IEC 17025 certification elements including technical documentation and calibration processes.
- Intermediate computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint; SharePoint preferred).
- Strong reasoning and communication skills (written & oral).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks to deadlines.
- Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Independent decision‑making and problem‑solving capabilities.
- Team‑based collaboration in a high‑pace corporate environment.
- Knowledge of EPA & government environmental regulations.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations.
- Understanding of lean tools (error proofing, 5S, takt time, Kanban, standard work).
- Passion for employee health, safety, and environmental protection.
Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college/university or equivalent vocational qualification. 3 years of experience as a safety professional. Must be able to obtain and maintain a TWIC card, DISA status, and other required access credentials for customer job sites.
Preferred Qualifications- OSHA 501 Certificate
- Lead Incident Investigator – Kelvin TOPSET
- Lead Auditor – ISO 9001/ISO 45001/ISO/IEC 17025
- Graduate Safety Professional (GSP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
- JSA or Behavioral Based Safety Training Certification
May lift documents or work materials up to 30 pounds. Walk or climb to various work locations and travel by air/auto to remote sites. Work at a personal computer and telephone for extended periods. Flexibility to travel within the U.S. 25‑40 % of the time.
Work EnvironmentPrimary work setting is a temperature‑controlled office, but may require visits to service job sites. Follow appropriate safety protocols, including respiratory protective equipment, hearing protection, and fall protection. Noise levels: low in office, elevated on job sites.
