Industrial Services Operations/Engineering Manager
HPC Industrial powered by Clean Harbors is seeking an Industrial Services Operations/Engineering Manager to oversee compliance programs for water treatment processes and engineering for the National Water Services group. The role ensures federal, state, and local environmental regulations are met and provides a safe, healthy, and accident‑free work environment in compliance with client and HPC Industrial policies and procedures.
Responsibilities- Lead and assist in the development of new and improved treatment processes.
- Lead and assist direct sales and operations in the design of process flow, consumable usage, and equipment layout for water treatment projects.
- Serve as an integral part of the sales and operations team while leading the engineering group.
- Analyze operating procedures and field data to help optimize treatment process.
- Act as Subject Matter Expert for GAC, Resin, reverse osmosis, deionization, and high‑purity applications.
- Assist in on‑site operations, including performing tests and recording performance values throughout water treatment systems.
- Apply principles of chemical engineering to solve client problems.
- Work with local operations to improve and manage environmental and safety procedures and practices.
- Develop process improvements and identify required chemicals, parts, and equipment to achieve project goals.
- Develop technical project summaries for client and marketing use.
- Support the development of standard operating procedures.
- Assist in sales process, including client‑facing activities.
- Provide technical support to EHS initiatives.
- Participate in safety, environmental, and team meetings/programs as appropriate.
- Perform work practices that positively impact safety and environmental performance.
- Perform other duties as required.
- 5+ years’ experience in water treatment or a related field.
- Proficiency in CAD drawings, Google Earth, Adobe, and Microsoft Office.
- BS in Chemical Engineering or a related field such as Mechanical or Environmental (required).
- Must have experience working with process water treatment in refineries, chemical plants, or power plants.
- High‑purity water treatment and process design knowledge is a plus.
- Advanced water treatment process training or certification.
- Ability to read and write English (literate).
- Strong environmental regulatory knowledge.
- Ability to apply engineering knowledge effectively.
- Ability to interpret plans, prints, and graphs.
- Knowledge of standard process equipment and maintenance.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to read and communicate instructions.
- Ability to interpret laboratory data, analytical studies, and treatment ability studies.
- Ability to utilize testing equipment to make process changes.
- Ability to complete assigned tasks independently.
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors.
- Ability to travel to sites as needed.
- Competitive wages $95,000 – $130,000.
