The MGT Site Electrical Installation Engineer will oversee the electrical field-installation of Medium Gas Turbines (MGT 20‑62 MW) and driven equipment. The position requires 80 %+ travel to customer construction sites primarily in North America. Daily activities include leading and directing subcontractors to install electrical equipment, attending site meetings with customers and subcontractors to coordinate tasks, and managing the timing of material arrivals on site.
The engineer will communicate status and lessons learned to back‑office engineering and management on a consistent basis.
- Supervise electrical resources for the installation of gas turbine(s), generator(s), and related equipment.
- Participate in and lead a safe work environment.
- Complete and submit detailed reports summarizing job activity and quality documentation.
- Work directly with customers and labor resources to ensure the correct implementation of Siemens Energy product.
- Review complex task plans, schedules, drawings, and installation schematics and provide continual mentorship throughout the duration of each task.
- Lead and direct subcontractors to perform specific maintenance‑related tasks and serve as the primary Siemens Energy jobsite contact.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or HS Diploma/GED plus equivalent experience in the electrical industry (e.g., electrician, industrial electrician, or similar technical roles).
- Knowledge of electrical systems and practical working methods, with a strong commitment to safety and the work environment.
- 3 + years of experience in a power plant or equivalent environment.
- Self‑driven and resourceful, able to achieve goals independently and work well in groups.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment while prioritizing tasks for yourself and others, under strict timelines and adapting to changing needs; prior experience with Siemens Energy’s customers, equipment, and processes is a plus.
- Excellent technical writing and oral communication skills; proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office and ability to learn other software as needed).
