Marine Service Engineer – Miami

Mackay Marine has an opening for an experienced Marine Service Engineer (MSE), aka Marine Service Technicians (MST), in our ‘Miami’ depot in Miramar, FL.

Under limited supervision, the Marine Service Engineer (MSE) installs, services, and repairs electronic equipment on board ships. MSEs will test, adjust, and troubleshoot components, PCBs, sub-assemblies, and antennas as well as load, update, and modify software. Marine Service Engineers utilize their knowledge of electronic theory and circuitry to address a variety of technical problems and make intelligent use of complex schematics, blueprints, and manuals to accurately achieve assignments.

Upon completing the job, the MSE composes a detailed service report.

• 3+ years of experience as an MSE, MST or ET in commercial shipping or the Navy, Coast Guard, or Marines.
• Associate’s Degree or equivalent education, training, and experience.
• Strong knowledge of electronics theory and application.
• Valid FCC General License with Radar Endorsement and GMDSS Radio Operator Maintainer License preferred.
• Physically fit; work environment often involves carrying up to 50 lbs., climbing ladders and masts, and exposure to weather.
• Valid drivers license and reliable transportation is required.
