Intertek is actively seeking a Petroleum Inspector to join our Caleb Brett team, on site, at our Deer Park facility. This is a fantastic opportunity to start a versatile career in the Inspection and Testing business. Intertek is a global and award‑winning leader in the ATIC Industry.
What are we looking for?The Petroleum Inspector is responsible for volume measurement, temperature measurement, and sampling of commodity materials contained or conveyed in lines, shore tanks, cars, tank trucks, barges, and ships. This position will involve traveling to client locations for onsite inspections.
Shift/ScheduleVarious shifts, with nights, weekends, and holidays possible.

What you’ll do:- Volume measurement, temperature measurement and sampling of commodity materials contained or conveyed in lines, shore tanks, cars, tank trucks, barges, and ships
- Visual inspections on lines, pumps, manifolds, shore tanks, rail cars, tank trucks, barges, and ships
- Complete custody transfer surveys of commodities transferred to and from rail cars, tank trucks, shore tanks, barges, and ships
- Perform routine equipment calibration, verification and function checks
- Maintain work areas, records and equipment in a clean, organized and functional condition
- Understand and adhere to Caleb Brett safety procedures
- Perform by specified methodology the below duties in addition to completing the associated paperwork

MinimumRequirements & Qualifications:
- A valid driver’s license and reliable driving record is required
- Must have basic grasp of basic mathematics and work in an automated environment.
- Ability to work on an on‑call basis
- Cannot have a fear of heights
- Model Intertek’s 10X Energies at all times within the workplace, practicing business the right way
- Physical requirements to include lifting (25-35 pounds), walking, standing, reaching, bending, stooping, climbing, squatting and driving
- Must have or be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, multi‑tasking environment with shifting priorities and demanding deadlines
- Ability to gauge and sample shore tanks and barges.
- Ability to calculate shore tanks and barges and know how to interpolate on strapping tables
- Set shore stop
- Be able to gauge and sample vessels
- Be able to strap out vessels using vessel strappings and being able to interpolate
- 5‑10 years' experience with petroleum inspections is required
Requirements & Qualifications:
- High school diploma, or equivalent preferred
- Industry Certifications are a PLUS
- Ability to travel, on a volunteer basis
