Primary Function:

The Buyer II is an experienced procurement professional responsible for managing the sourcing, negotiation, and purchasing of materials, equipment, and subcontract services in support of Dacon's electrical construction and EPC project operations. Operating with limited supervision, the Buyer II independently manages assigned commodity portfolios, leads competitive bid processes, negotiates commercial terms with suppliers, and serves as a reliable procurement resource for project teams

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Independently manage the full procurement lifecycle for assigned categories including electrical materials, equipment, and construction services from requisition through purchase order closeout.
  • Develop and issue RFQs and Requests for Proposal (RFPs); lead competitive bid evaluations; prepare detailed bid tabulations and commercial award recommendations.
  • Negotiate pricing, delivery, and commercial terms with vendors; execute purchase orders and subcontracts within delegated approval authority.
  • Manage vendor relationships for assigned suppliers; conduct vendor performance evaluations and address performance issues proactively.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and field personnel to develop material procurement plans aligned with project schedules and budgets.
  • Identify and qualify new vendors to expand Dacon's approved supplier base; coordinate vendor qualification documentation and assessments.
  • Analyze market pricing trends and supply chain conditions for assigned commodity categories; provide recommendations to management on sourcing strategy.
  • Expedite critical material deliveries; coordinate logistics, inspections, and documentation requirements for major equipment and bulk material orders.
  • Maintain procurement records, spend data, and reporting metrics in Dacon's ERP system; support procurement KPI reporting.
  • Support the resolution of commercial disputes with vendors including invoice discrepancies, delivery claims, and warranty issues.
  • Mentor Junior Buyers and Buyer I staff on procurement processes and best practices as needed.
  • Perform special projects and complete other duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Qualifications / Experience

Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field required (4 years of directly relevant procurement experience may be considered in lieu of degree) Minimum 4 years of experience required.
