Air Technician

We are looking for an Air Technician to join our safety conscious team. The Air Technician provides quality workmanship in the cleaning, calibrating and repair of various fixed and portable gas monitoring systems, water/moisture content measuring equipment and breathing equipment.

• Receipt, inspection, cleaning, servicing, reassembling and testing of various SCBA and other respiratory equipment and breathing air equipment in accordance with approved procedures.
• Routine inspection and maintenance of breathing air regulators and reducers.
• Complete all documentation and data entry associated with inspection and repair, including obtaining customer signatures for invoicing and documentation.
• Conduct detailed visual inspections and functional tests of equipment, report deficiencies, recommend corrective actions, quote repair costs, and schedule delivery.
• Assist in stocking shelves, staging, and loading customer orders; maintain a clean and orderly work area; perform additional duties after training.

• At least one (1) year of field experience in fire protection, petrochemical, oil refinery or related industry.
• Valid driver’s license, proof of vehicle insurance, good driving record, and insurability for company vehicles. Forklift experience preferred; ability to pass internal forklift certification.
• Proficient in operating electronic safety equipment and understanding production platform shutdowns via fire and gas detection systems.
• Ability to operate, maintain, reassemble, and test electronic safety equipment per manufacturer specifications.
• Skill to troubleshoot and diagnose assigned equipment problems and take corrective action within policy and procedure limits.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards (State, OSHA, NFPA, etc.) relating to responsibilities.

Shop and yard environment; frequently exposed to wet, humid outdoor conditions, vibration, high pressure, chemicals, and shop traffic. Some customer environments may be encountered during training. Noise level is usually moderate.

High School diploma or GED required; associate’s degree, technical, or military training strongly preferred.
