Petroleum Inspector, 1-2 year's experience (level II)
Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions, is seeking a Petroleum Inspector to join our Caleb Brett team on site at our Deer Park facility. This is a great opportunity to start a versatile career in the Inspection and Testing business.
What you’ll do- Measure volume, temperature, and sample commodity materials in lines, shore tanks, cars, tank trucks, barges, and ships.
- Perform visual inspections on lines, pumps, manifolds, shore tanks, rail cars, tank trucks, barges, and ships.
- Complete custody‑transfer surveys of commodities transferred to and from rail cars, tank trucks, shore tanks, barges, and ships.
- Perform routine equipment calibration, verification, and function checks.
- Maintain work areas, records, and equipment in a clean, organized, and functional condition.
- Adhere to Caleb Brett safety procedures.
- Document and complete paperwork for all activities.
This position will involve traveling to client locations for onsite inspections.
Shift / ScheduleVarious shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications- A valid driver’s license and reliable driving record.
- Basic grasp of mathematics and ability to work in an automated environment.
- Ability to work on an on‑call basis.
- No fear of heights.
- Demonstrate Intertek’s values in the workplace.
- Physical ability to lift 25‑35 pounds, walk, stand, reach, bend, stoop, climb, squat, and drive.
- Must have or be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, multi‑tasking environment with shifting priorities and demanding deadlines.
- Ability to gauge, sample, and calculate shore tanks and barges, and interpolate on strapping tables.
- Set shore stop.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Industry certifications.
- Willingness to travel on a volunteer basis.
