How You’ll Make an Impact

The Quality Control Leader is responsible for overseeing operations and products (raw materials, intermediates, and final) to ensure they meet customer and industry standards and requirements. In this role you will:

  • Drive department compliance with environmental, health and safety standards and performance.
  • Lead the Quality Control team to drive injury‑free performance.
  • Implement Corporate Quality Strategy and policies at the site through indirect reporting to Corporate Quality Assurance.
  • Drive quality control productivity to set or meet benchmark performance.
  • Ensure that leading/lagging targets, objectives & KPI performance is achieved.
  • Ensure all QC activity/tasks are value‑assessed, prioritized, and aligned with corporate, plant, and department objectives and deliverables.
  • Ensure resources are optimally staffed to address all priorities efficiently and timely.
  • Oversee operation expenses for the department in a controlled and proficient manner with a continuous‑improvement mindset.
  • Prioritize and progress Nonconforming Product and Corrective Action processes for the QC lab without delays.
  • Lead site efforts to eliminate NCM generation.
  • Support unit/plant operations and corporate initiatives with QC personnel, time, and resources.
  • Lead and develop self‑directed work teams by coaching, enabling, developing, and mentoring all direct reports.
  • Empower and encourage direct reports to make calculated and well‑informed data‑based decisions regularly through one‑on‑one interactions.
  • Actively participate in the site leadership team.
  • Actively spend time in the lab observing, encouraging, and leading the use of Continuous Improvement tools and methodologies.
  • Interface with corporate, commercial, supply chain, customer experience, and lab/operations personnel.
Required Qualifications that Enable Your Success
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience managing or leading a Quality Management System (QMS) within a manufacturing environment.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing cross‑functional teams.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and supporting quality audit programs.
  • Experience collaborating with R&D and customers on quality requirements and issue resolution.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 standards.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and problem‑solving capabilities.

  • Experience with in the chemical manufacturing industry.
Work Environment
  • Work on‑site in a manufacturing and laboratory environment, utilizing appropriate PPE.
  • Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams across Operations, Engineering, R&D, and Corporate functions.
  • Lead quality initiatives in a fast‑paced production setting with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Participate in audits, inspections, and plant‑wide initiatives.
  • Operate within strict safety, regulatory, and quality compliance standards.
