What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter. Working environments and conditions may vary by location.
- Maintain a visible armed presence at a logistics and distribution location to help to deter theft, trespassing and/or other unauthorized activity.
- Control access at gates, guard shacks and/or entry points by verifying identification, reviewing shipping and receiving documentation and directing authorized drivers, visitors and contractors.
- Monitor vehicle and pedestrian traffic flow around docks, yards and/or staging areas and report hazards, congestion and/or suspicious behavior to site leadership.
- Conduct vehicle and trailer inspections when assigned, looking for signs of tampering, forced entry and/or prohibited items, and document findings per site policy.
- Operate security-related equipment such as radios, access control systems, CCTV and/or body-worn equipment as required by post orders.
- Write detailed reports of patrol activity, incidents, inspections and/or policy violations, and complete required logs such as access rosters and badge accountability.
- Coordinate with Allied Universal supervision, site management and local emergency responders during alarms, medical events, fires and/or other urgent situations.
- Support emergency procedures by assisting with evacuations, accountability checks and/or perimeter control as directed by post orders.
- Maintain readiness of assigned equipment and follow all applicable use-of-force guidelines and reporting requirements.
Minimum Requirements:
- A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- An armed guard card and/or license is required.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
