The Combination Welder is responsible for performing skilled welding and fabrication activities on industrial piping, equipment, structural components, and related systems in support of construction, maintenance, turnaround, and capital projects. The position performs welding using multiple processes and materials in accordance with approved welding procedures, project specifications, applicable codes and standards, and customer quality requirements.

The Combination Welder works from piping isometrics, construction drawings, specifications, and work packages to prepare, fit, weld, repair, and install piping and related components. The position also supports pipe fitters and other craft personnel with piping preparation, fit-up, fabrication, and installation activities when not actively performing welding assignments.

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum four (4) years of relevant industrial welding experience preferred.
• Demonstrated experience welding industrial piping in construction, maintenance, turnaround, or similar heavy industrial environments.
• Must successfully complete applicable weld tests and maintain required welding qualifications for assigned work.
• Demonstrated ability to perform welding in multiple positions, including 2G, 4G, and 6G, as required by assigned work.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW/Stick) and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW/TIG) processes on industrial piping.
• Experience welding carbon steel, stainless steel, chrome/alloy, and other industrial piping materials applicable to assigned work.
• Experience welding various pipe sizes, wall thicknesses, and schedules, including Schedule 40, 80, and 160 piping.
• Ability to read and interpret piping isometrics, construction drawings, weld maps, specifications, welding procedure specifications (WPS), and other technical documents applicable to assigned work.
