Sr. Manager Accounting

The Senior Manager of Accounting oversees the accounting department, reviewing the work of staff and senior accountants and ensuring all accounting activities are performed accurately and in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. This role requires strong verbal and written communication skills, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and the capacity to meet tight deadlines. The Senior Manager, Accounting brings a strong understanding of accounting policy, planning, and strategy, and proactively addresses risks, challenges, and opportunities for the business.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a SOX-compliant environment
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• Preferred Background: Public company and/or Big 4 accounting firm experience
• Hands-on experience with full-cycle accounting, including general ledger maintenance, accruals, reconciliations, and close processes
• Strong critical-thinking skills with the ability to operate strategically while executing at a detailed level
• High sense of ownership with curiosity and willingness to learn
• Results-driven mindset with strong team orientation
• CPA preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly summarize complex accounting matters for diverse audiences

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure financial statement integrity and operational excellence throughout the close and reporting processes
• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure accuracy and consistency across accounting processes
• Manage the month-end close, including review and approval of journal entries and account reconciliations
• Review quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements in accordance with GAAP, including footnotes and supporting schedules
• Coordinate with external auditors to support timely completion of annual audits
• Ensure compliance with SOX requirements, including coordination of internal and external SOX testing and remediation of findings
• Maintain timely and accurate balance sheet reconciliations
• Identify process inefficiencies and opportunities to reduce costs across the organization
• Support migration, implementation, and integration of financial systems and applications
• Continuously evaluate and improve accounting processes and internal controls
• Perform special projects and financial analysis to support organizational growth
