We are seeking a detail-oriented Corporate Accountant to manage the financial backbone of our construction projects. In this key role, you'll partner closely with project managers, operations, and leadership to deliver accurate job costing, timely billing, and insightful financial reporting that keeps projects on budget and profitable.
OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented Corporate Accountant to manage the financial backbone of our construction projects. In this key role, you'll partner closely with project managers, operations, and leadership to deliver accurate job costing, timely billing, and insightful financial reporting that keeps projects on budget and profitable.
Key Responsibilities- Manage project accounting, job cost control, revenue recognition, and progress billing for construction projects.
- Partner with project managers to ensure accurate financials and timely reporting.
- Coordinate with company management, project managers, and operations team to track customer billings and payables.
- Process accounts receivable and payables, including vendor invoices, subcontractor pay apps, retainage, and AIA billings.
- Maintain job cost ledgers; code costs to cost codes/commitments; reconcile to budgets.
- Prepare monthly WIP schedules, percent-complete revenue and margin analyses.
- Track, manage, and process change orders.
- Reconcile bank, credit card, and intercompany accounts; support month-end close.
- Produce financial reports/dashboards for PMs and leadership.
- 3+ years of experience in construction project accounting or job cost accounting.
- Strong knowledge of construction-specific financial processes (job costing, WIP, revenue recognition).
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., CMiC, Sage 300 CRE, Viewpoint, Procore, Quick Books, or similar); advanced Excel skills required.
- Excellent analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy under deadlines.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities—comfortable partnering with non-finance teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
