Overview

Position: TEACHER-HEAD START- (SPECIAL/GRANT FUNDING)

Work Location:

DEERFIELD PARK ELEMENTARY, DEERFIELD BEACH

• Assess and support student learning using traditional and alternative assessment strategies aligned with the curriculum and standards.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and stakeholders.
• Engage in ongoing professional improvement for self and school.
• Foster critical, creative, and evaluative thinking capabilities in students.
• Use instructional strategies and materials that reflect diverse cultural backgrounds, learning styles, and needs.
• Adhere to ethics and regulations and enforce applicable federal, state, and district policies.
• Support learning and development to create a positive learning environment.
• Demonstrate knowledge of subject matter and plan, implement, and evaluate effective instruction and assessment across environments.
• Collaborate with peers, parents, community, and other stakeholders to improve student educational experiences.
• Integrate appropriate technology into teaching and learning processes.
• Complete ESOL training and endorsements if assigned LEP students.
• Maintain school records and prepare required reports.
• Account for school property and adhere to property control procedures.
• Adhere to equal employment and non-discrimination policies and participate in relevant training.
• Review current developments and best practices related to job responsibilities.
• Follow safety rules and school board policies; perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

• Appropriate State of Florida certification.
• Computer skills as required for the position.

• Bilingual skills

Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District's approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the School Board.
