Teacher Assistant-Bilingual; Creole

POSITION GOAL
To provide bilingual instructional assistance in the classroom by assisting in a variety of activities including the preparation of instructional materials, presenting classroom instruction, performing clerical duties, and supervising student activities to enhance educational delivery. Responsibilities align with Broward County School District policies and may include support for specific grants.

• Assist in classroom instruction for English Language Learners (ELLs).
• Prepare instructional materials and resources.
• Present classroom instruction and facilitate student learning.
• Perform clerical duties related to classroom management.
• Assist in supervising and supporting student activities.

• High school diploma or satisfactory GED.
• Successful completion of Teacher Assistant curriculum or equivalent, and passing score on Para Pro Test or other recognized assessment.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English and the primary language of the target ELL population.
• Sensitivity to cultural diversity and ability to work with students.
• Basic computer skills.

• Earned associate’s degree or at least 60 semester hours of college credit.
• Minimum two (2) years of experience working with children within the last five (5) years.
• Six (6) semester hours in human growth and development.
