It is the foundation of the memorial experience.summary:the dosimetrist develops patient radiation treatment plans in collaboration with the radiation oncologist and the medical physicist, as well as assists with the radiation therapy treatment simulation and delivery.responsibilities:assists

with or performs quality assurance of radiation treatment plans.assists with or performs the fabrication of beam modifying devices and immobilization devices.designs a treatment plan to deliver a prescribed radiation dose and fields to a defined tumor volume.competencies:accountability, accuracy & quality, analysis and decision making, customer service, effective communication, patient and family centered care, problem solving, radiation treatment planning, responding to change, standards of behavior education and certification requirements:accredited program: dosimetry (required) registry of radiology tech (arrt) - american registry of radiologic technologists (arrt), certified medical dosimetrist (cmd) - medical dosimetrist certification board (mdcb) additional job information:complexity of work: requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimum supervision.

Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Required work experience: two (2) years of experience as a radiation therapist with dosimetry training or graduate from a medical dosimetry program.
