Manufacturing Production, Machine Operator

Job title: Sr. Fabrication Tech
Department Interactions:
This person works with the Stainless-Steel and Machine shop departments. The staff and may be expected to interact with other departments in the completion of their daily assignments.
Responsibilities:
- Adheres to best production practices and product quality standards.
- Adheres to all quality policies, procedures and objectives.
- Adheres to all company policies and procedures.
- Stainless steel operations, including operating ELP, Rivet, Deburr, Accupress, Iron worker, Amada, and laser machines.
- Coordinate machine maintenance.
- Provide support in the stainless‑steel processes of production orders. Identify additional steps needed such as fabrication of angles, bottom mounts, piano hinges, etc.
- Quality control operation. Verifying that the production orders have been processed with quality and according to the standards.
- Ability to measure properly using micrometers, calipers, and other special tools.
Requirements:
- The selected individual must possess a High School Diploma and 5+ years of experience. Must be mechanically inclined with great attention to detail for a fast‑paced environment with the ability to meet deadlines. Reading, writing, and basic math skills are required. Candidate must speak, read, and write in English.
- Must be able to walk and stand throughout an eight‑hour day.
- Must be able to consistently lift 30 to 50 lbs. from a floor or table position to chest height.
- Must be able to repetitively use arms, hands, and fingers in the manipulation of parts.
- Must be able to differentiate between many products and parts which may appear similar.
- Must be able to work with various personalities while maintaining cooperative working relationships.
- Must be able to concentrate in a busy work environment and be detail oriented to maintain a high level of quality, keep accurate accounts of time and production, keep production on schedule and maintain a safe working environment.
- Must demonstrate good hand /eye coordination.
- Must be able to read blueprints.
- Must be able to use basic hand tools.
- Must be a forklift certified trainer.
- Must be able to operate all machines with no supervision.
- Must be able to train new employees on the machines.
- Daily responsibilities vary, but include the following tasks:
- Outsource weld services.
- Scrap pick‑up service.
- Distribution of daily production orders on the floor.
- Oxygen tanks and stainless steel sheets control.
The manufacturing plant is not air‑conditioned. The environment is normal for a manufacturing facility.
