American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week travel contract in South Florida, requiring a minimum of 2 years of recent OR experience with scrub/circulate and specialty skills including trauma, ortho, robotic, neuro, and vascular.
Details- Hospital Operating Room setting
- Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:30)
- Every other weekend (EOW) required
- On-call responsibilities required
- Must be available to work at least one major holiday
- Hurricane duty sign-up required (shifts not guaranteed)
- Epic EMR experience required
- Active FL or Compact RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications through AHA or ARC required
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience required
- Scrub and circulate experience highly preferred
- Experience in trauma, orthopedic, robotic, neuro, and vascular cases required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Degree must be from an accredited nursing program approved by the Florida Board of Nursing (FBON); degrees from Operation Nightingale schools are not accepted
- If degree is from a non-standard institution, 2 years of consecutive acute care experience within the past 24 months in a US hospital is required
- Must successfully complete a Florida AHCA Level 2 background screening, including fingerprint-based state and federal criminal history checks, abuse registry review, and screening for disqualifying offenses
- Pass/fail EKG (Basic Arrhythmia) assessment required prior to start
- Smoke-free facility
- Local candidates within a 60-mile radius of the facility are accepted but at a lower pay rate
- Former permanent employees of this health system must have been separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Pre-start orientation modules (approximately 8 hours for RNs) must be completed before the first shift
- Lab work must be completed within 72 hours of signing the contract
- Proof of vaccination status is required; declinations are not accepted
- If the Basic Arrhythmia assessment is not passed on the first attempt, a re-take (Dysrhythmia Exam
B) must be completed within 24 hours and passed with an overall Angoff score of 83% or greater, 100% in the lethal rhythm section, and 83% in all other sections
