Job OverviewThe Learning Experience is seeking a detail-oriented Childcare Licensing Specialist to support the licensing, transfer, and regulatory approval of childcare centers nationwide. This onsite role plays a critical part in ensuring centers meet all applicable state and federal childcare licensing requirements from construction through grand opening.
The ideal candidate has experience working with licensing agencies, managing compliance documentation, coordinating inspections, and navigating regulatory processes. This position directly supports national growth by ensuring timely approvals and full compliance across new and existing centers.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and submit childcare licensing applications for new center openings, ownership transfers, and renewals
- Ensure compliance with state and federal childcare licensing regulations
- Coordinate inspections and site visits with state agencies and internal construction and operations teams
- Track licensing milestones from build-out through approval and opening
Serve as the primary liaison with state and local childcare licensing authorities - Maintain accurate records, compliance documentation, and licensing timelines
- Provide guidance and technical support to franchise owners and internal teams regarding licensing requirements
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to align licensing schedules with operational launch plans
- Travel up to 30 percent to support onsite inspections and regulatory meetings
- Minimum of 2 years experience working with government licensing agencies or regulatory compliance preferred
- Strong understanding of childcare licensing standards and compliance processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and regulatory deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel
- Strong attention to detail and independent decision-making skills
- Ability to build professional relationships with regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders
- Comfortable adapting priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Familiarity with business entities or franchise operations preferred
- Play a direct role in opening and supporting childcare centers nationwide
- Work cross-functionally with construction, operations, and leadership teams
