HVAC Technician / Building Maintenance
The HVAC Technician / Building Maintenance plays a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance and safety of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems within FHE healthcare facilities. This position is responsible for conducting regular maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and performing necessary repairs to maintain a comfortable and safe environment for patients and staff. The technician will work closely with other maintenance staff to coordinate efforts and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
By effectively managing HVAC systems, the technician contributes to the overall efficiency of the facility, ultimately enhancing patient care and comfort. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining high standards of service in a critical industry.
What You'll Do
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnose and repair HVAC system malfunctions, including heating, cooling, and ventilation issues.
- Install new HVAC equipment and systems as needed, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance.
- Collaborate with other maintenance staff and departments to address facility-wide HVAC needs and emergencies.
- Other facility daily maintenance duties, as assigned.
What You Need
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an HVAC training program or apprenticeship.
- Valid HVAC technician certification or license.
- Experience in a substance abuse or mental health treatment setting (preferred but not required).
- CPR Certification
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI)
