Qualifications
- Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience with C/C++ programming at the application level as well as some C#
- Strong with Linux/uClinux
- Shell scripting
- Good communication skills and documentation skills
- Ability to obtain a security clearance
- Able to come onsite 5 days a week in Deerfield Beach, FL
- Experience working on government contracts
- Experience working in manufacturing
- Any sound power knowledge
- Degree is preferred and additional education/certifications
- Shipboard integrated communications experience preferred or any sort of communications experience (radars, etc.)
Insight Global's client is a top marine communications client servicing both government and commercial clients. As their team continues to grow, they have opened an additional position for a Software Engineer on their team. This person will fill a void of understanding their systems to ensure they can service their customers in the best way possible. This role is 5 days a week onsite in Deerfield Beach, FL and requires eligibility to obtain a security clearance.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Design, develops, and implements software consistent with the development process and contemporary software techniques.
- Performs debugging and unit testing of software products.
- Analyzes and investigates major software engineering tasks.
- Defines design specifications and parameters.
- Coordinates with hardware engineers to resolve hardware/software compatibility and interface considerations.
- Interfaces with other departments to participate in specification, design, code, and test reviews.
- Provides documentation of software products.
- Follows and contributes to improvement of the software development process.
- Provides timely production support and problem resolution.
- Interfaces with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications; provides maintenance information.
- Produces timely status reports and projections.
- Develops and tracks objectives and schedules.
- Prioritizes and manages multiple projects within design specifications and budget restrictions.
- Participates in project planning and management.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
$130,000 to $180,000 per year annual salary. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
