Special Projects Accounting Manager

A publicly traded manufacturing company is hiring a Manager of Special Projects Accounting due to a recent internal promotion. This is an exciting opportunity where you will be working alongside multiple accounting & finance departments to enhance month-end close with plant accounting and cost accounting.

• Managed and assist plant month/year end processes and identify areas of improvement
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness with cost accounting when preparing monthly & quarterly analysis of financial results
• Initiate process improvement projects for daily plant accounting and cost accounting
• Establish a strong control environment and work collaboratively with plant leadership on corporate policies
• Support the adoption of new accounting policies and new accounting standards
• Identify training needs and conduct formal employee training meetings
• Research and document improvements while aligning with the appropriate stakeholders
• Supervise and coach a team of accounting professionals

• Bachelor’s degree with a focus in accounting
• CPA or master’s in accountancy recommended
• 8+ years of accounting/audit experience, with at least 2 years of supervisory experience
• Prior experience with cost accounting or working with plant accounting teams
• SAP experience required
• Must have previous experience leading special projects within accounting departments that have resulted in improved efficiency
• Exceptional communication skills and attention to detail

• Base salary + 16% bonus
