B1 - Revenue Accounting Manager

Job Objective

Manages and directs all activities associated with the Revenue Accounting Team.

• Manages and supervises the revenue accounting department to achieve goals within available resources.
• Plans and organizes workloads and staff assignments.
• Trains, motivates, and evaluates assigned staff.
• Reviews progress and directs changes as needed.
• Manages revenue recording functions for highly complicated fields in states where Hilcorp operates.
• Ensures timely and accurate recording of revenue, fees, royalties, production tax expense and payable transactions.
• Is familiar with standard ERP systems used in revenue functions.
• Uses strong analytical skills to ensure accuracy of revenue transactions.
• Records revenue sales for all products and performs accounts‑receivable reconciliation.
• Manages and reviews general‑ledger (G/L) account reconciliation reports.
• Handles gas balancing and pipeline imbalance accounting.
• Reports sales variance analysis and explains major sales fluctuations.
• Performs special projects that require oil and gas revenue accounting knowledge.
• Maintains technical knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing publications, and participating in professional associations.

• Eight (8) years minimum experience in oil and gas and five (5) years revenue accounting experience.
• Proficient in problem solving, spreadsheet use and data management.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, officials and the public.
• Ability to handle multiple, diverse tasks with differing priorities.
• Outstanding administrative and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex operational information into organized presentations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Preferred: strong knowledge of oil and gas accounting systems and SAP PRA.

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four‑year university or college.
