The Student Engagement Manager is responsible for overseeing and growing the student chapter program while serving as a key liaison between the organization, academic institutions, and students. This role focuses on engagement, governance, program utilization, content development, and relationship-building to ensure a vibrant, compliant, and impactful student experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES Student Chapter Management & Engagement- Manage and support the student chapter program and honor society, stewarding strong relationships with academic stakeholders, faculty advisors, and student leaders.
- Foster active student participation by providing guidance, resources, and introductions to support on-campus events, activities, employer facility tours, and speaking engagements with local industry professionals.
- Identify and nurture student talent to support leadership development and fill future leadership or ambassador roles within the organization’s structure.
- Oversee the intake, tracking, and resolution of student inquiries and service requests, maintaining consistent communication and follow-through.
- Promote and support the student organization’s presence on campus while ensuring adherence to chapter bylaws, constitutions, and governance structures.
- Support administrative and backend processes, including (but not limited to) member communications, mailing certificates, resources, and documentation.
- Manage member data, reporting, and incoming requests with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Promote and ensure successful utilization of member benefit programs, including access to courses, standards, and professional and leadership development opportunities.
- Act as a knowledgeable resource to students and faculty on the full scope of available benefits and programs.
- Develop engaging content for the monthly newsletter, including student success stories, talent highlights, chapter activities, and promotion of upcoming events.
- Collaborate with internal teams to amplify student and chapter impact through consistent and compelling storytelling.
- Create high-quality presentations and confidently present—both in-person and virtually—to promote the organization, its programs, and opportunities.
- Host webinars and moderate panels, engaging students, educators, and industry participants in meaningful dialogue.
- Proactively build relationships with new academic institutions, including cold outreach and relationship-building with a consultative, sales-oriented mindset to launch programs at new schools.
- Support the expansion of the student chapter network by identifying opportunities within the academic landscape.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred. An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience in academic programs, student engagement, workforce development, or association management will also be considered.
- 3+ years of experience in student engagement, academic program management, nonprofit or association management, workforce development, or related fields.
- Demonstrated experience working with colleges, universities, faculty, and student organizations.
- Experience managing programs, member or participant engagement, and service-based support models.
- Proven ability to build relationships, conduct outreach, and grow participation through consultative communication and recruitment.
- Experience creating presentations, hosting webinars, and facilitating virtual or in-person events.
- Experience developing content for newsletters, marketing communications, or stakeholder updates.
- Certifications in project management, nonprofit management, education, marketing, customer service, or workforce development (such as PMP, CMP, SHRM, CFRE, or similar) are a plus, but not required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Docs, Sheets, Slides).
- Experience using CRM, AMS, or membership management systems to manage member data, reporting, and requests.
