Responsibilities- Policy Development & Modernization: Draft, maintain, and modernize network policies and operating rules. You’ll apply your legal acumen to ensure clarity, enforce ability, and ironclad alignment with regulatory and contractual requirements.
- Complex Translation: Translate highly complex legal, technical, and operational requirements into clear, implementable rules for diverse stakeholder audiences. You excel at balancing legal precision with operational practicality.
- Governance Rigor: Champion internal governance. You will ensure ongoing compliance with our strict rule change management, submission, and approval processes, keeping our documentation immaculate.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build and maintain trusted relationships with peers and senior stakeholders across Legal, Risk, Compliance, Product, Technology, and Operations teams.
- Tech-Forward Innovation: Embrace and develop your skills in modern technology—including AI-enabled tools where appropriate—to improve rule quality, data consistency, and operational efficiency, all while retaining clear human accountability.
- Basic Qualifications: Bachelors Degree or Military Experience
- At least 4 years of experience in contracts, risk assessment, or liability frameworks
- At least 1 year of People Management experience
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD), LLB or equivalent legal qualification or paralegal experience in contracts management
- 5+ years of experience in contracts, risk assessment, or liability frameworks
- At least 3 years of People Management experience
- Experience with payments network governance models, including participant obligations, enforcement mechanisms and change management processes

- The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated. Cities and ranges:
Chicago, IL: $161,500 - $184,300;
Houston, TX: $161,500 - $184,300;
McLean, VA: $177,700 - $202,800;
New York, NY: $193,800 - $221,200;
Richmond, VA: $161,500 - $184,300;
Riverwoods, IL: $161,500 - $184,300. The actual offer will reflect location and other factors. - Bonus and long-term incentive compensation may be offered, subject to plan terms.
