IBM Workload Scheduler Administrator

Riverwoods, IL – Hybrid
We are seeking an experienced IBM Workload Scheduler (IWS) Administrator to manage, support, troubleshoot, and optimize enterprise scheduling environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in IBM Workload Scheduler, Linux administration, AWS infrastructure, scripting, and IBM Web Sphere Liberty.
Key ResponsibilitiesManage and support IBM Workload Scheduler V10.1+ environments.
Administer Master Domain Manager (MDM), Backup MDM (BMDM), Dynamic Workload Console (DWC), Fault Tolerant Agents (FTA), and Dynamic Agents (DA).
Support high-availability MDM environments and Dynamic Workload Broker architectures.
Monitor and control production plans using conman CLI.
Define, modify, and extract scheduling objects using composer CLI.
Manage pre-production plans and GUI mirroring using planman CLI.
Support the daily production planning lifecycle, including JNextPlan and FINAL processes.
Use DWC to monitor workloads, manage access security, and configure scheduling objects.
Install IWS components and apply Fix Packs and Interim Fixes.
Troubleshoot IWS using application logs and trace files.
Configure and troubleshoot IBM Web Sphere Liberty.
Analyze messages.log, traces.log, and FFDC logs.
Configure JVM heap sizes and tracing parameters.
Manage tracing scope, levels, retention, and trace strings.
Administer Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8+ environments.
Use Bash/shell commands such as grep, awk, and sed for troubleshooting and automation.
Manage SystemD services using systemctl and journalctl.
Manage user accounts, groups, service accounts, file permissions, and ACLs.
Support local file systems and NFS environments.
Monitor system performance using top, htop, vmstat, iostat, and sar.
Work with LVM and file system management.
Troubleshoot network connectivity, TCP ports, firewall rules, and connectivity between MDM and Dynamic Agents.
Manage SSL/TLS certificates, private keystores, public trust stores, and Certificate Authority processes.
Develop automation scripts using Bash, Python, or similar scripting languages.
Automate operational and scheduling tasks.
Develop scripts for monitoring, troubleshooting, and system administration.
Troubleshoot database connectivity and work with DBAs to identify Oracle-related issues.
Use basic SQL to query job metadata.
Understand Oracle administration concepts sufficient for production troubleshooting.
Support AWS cloud infrastructure environments.
Work with secrets-management solutions such as Cyber Ark PPM, Hashi Corp Vault, or similar platforms.
