The Vice President, Global Strategic Sourcing is responsible for leading Vantage’s global sourcing strategy across direct and indirect categories. This role will set the long-term sourcing vision for the organization, drive cost optimization, strengthen supplier relationship management, reduce supply risk, and align sourcing priorities with corporate objectives and business unit needs. The VPGSS is responsible for development and performance management of the entire sourcing team.
This is a critical executive leadership role responsible for building and deploying sourcing strategies that support margin improvement, operational continuity, innovation, sustainability, and growth. The VP will partner closely with executive leadership, business unit leaders, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal, Quality, R&D, Commercial, and regional teams to ensure sourcing strategies support Vantage’s global business priorities and customer commitments.
The VP will lead high-performing category management, oversee major supplier relationships, negotiate complex agreements, develop sourcing talent, and ensure the supply base is positioned to support business performance, resilience, and long-term value creation.
Position ScopeThis is a global enterprise leadership role responsible for strategic sourcing across Vantage’s global business units, regions, functions, and operating sites. The role will lead sourcing strategy for direct and indirect categories, key supplier partnerships, sourcing governance, supplier performance, risk mitigation, and sourcing process improvement.
The VP will be accountable for creating scalable sourcing practices, improving visibility across the supply base, strengthening supplier accountability, and ensuring sourcing priorities are aligned with business strategy, operational needs, innovation requirements, and financial goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Lead the organization’s global strategic sourcing function across direct and indirect categories, ensuring sourcing strategies align with corporate objectives, business priorities, and regional needs.
- Develop and execute short and longer-term global sourcing strategies that drive cost optimization, supplier performance, supply continuity, innovation, sustainability, and business growth.
- Establish and lead a high-performing category management approach, including category strategies, supplier segmentation, market intelligence, cost modeling, sourcing roadmaps, and savings plans.
- Develop and manage key supplier relationships, including performance metrics, business reviews, executive-level engagement, continuous improvement plans, and long-term partnership strategies.
- Lead complex supplier negotiations for major contracts, including pricing, commercial terms, service expectations, supply commitments, quality requirements, risk protections, and total cost of ownership improvements.
- Partner with business unit leaders, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal, Quality, R&D, Commercial, and regional teams to align demand, technical requirements, business priorities, and sourcing strategies.
- Analyze industry trends, supplier markets, cost drivers, geopolitical risks, capacity constraints, and competitive dynamics to identify risks and proactively develop mitigation strategies.
- Build business continuity and active risk management into sourcing strategies, including secondary sourcing, contingency planning, supplier capacity reviews, and crisis response plans for critical suppliers.
- Oversee supplier evaluation, qualification support, sourcing events, RFP/RFQ processes, bid analysis, total cost of ownership evaluations, and supplier selection recommendations.
- Ensure sourcing strategies support innovation, sustainability, regulatory expectations, quality standards, customer commitments, and operational reliability.
- Lead, mentor, and develop sourcing team members, building sourcing capability, accountability, commercial discipline, and a strong leadership pipeline.
